Jumbo in cooperation with APL of Norway has succesfully completed the installation of two Submerged Turret Loading (STL) buoys for a new gas offloading facility offshore Boston.
In July 2007 the DP-2 heavy lift vessel Jumbo Javelin installed 16 suction anchors, all of extraordinary size, and laid out more than 7.5 km and 3000t of 5¼ inch chains as part of the mooring system of the two STL buoys. After the two mooring systems were installed, Jumbo placed the two 156t STL-buoys in the water for final connection to the chains.
